You are in my head
Every time I close my eyes
Please, leave me alone

It is hard to know
The right words to say to you
I’ll keep trying though

I can’t imagine
The position you are in
I don’t envy you

It is hard to love
when we are always at odds
something has to give.

Did you know it hurt
how you talked to me that day
Is it worth trying?

You sit in my lap
Purr, purr, purring contently
I love you, Jessie

We sit in silence
You’d rather anything else
than talking to me.
